Many Municipalities have both an Administrator and a Municipal Clerk. Under our form of government the Township Committee appointed a municipal administrator and has delegated to her all or a portion of the executive responsibilities of the municipality. N.J.S.A. 40A:9-133.a states “In every municipality there shall be a municipal clerk appointed for a three-year term by the governing body of the municipality.” Hainesport Township combined both positions to save salary and fringe benefit costs thus saving tax dollars.
