A Letter from Hainesport Township's 250th Committee
Dear Hainesport Residents,
The Hainesport Township’s 250th Anniversary Committee would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that attended our huge July 4th Celebration. Another memorable event! The committee sponsored a Patriotic House Decorating Contest, and the committee went out and toured the township visiting many homes that took the time to show their “patriotic spirit”.
The winners are: 1st Place Bryan Spiva
2nd Place The Murphy Family
3rd Place The Valvardy Family
Congratulations to the winners and thank you to the many other residents who participated. Hainesport Township is truly celebrating the Nation’s 250th Anniversary.
The 250th Anniversary Committee also sponsored contests for the students in both Hainesport Public School and Harbor Baptist Academy School. There was a Coloring Contest for students from Pre-K to third grade. The students were given a choice of three patriotic pictures to color. The Essay Contest, “What does it mean to be an American and why is it important to celebrate 250 years”, was for students from Fourth to Eight Grades.
We had many entries for both categories and the children did a wonderful job! It was a difficult decision for the committee to choose the winners.
Coloring Contest Winners: 1st Place Nora Orr
2nd Place Reese
3rd Place Morgan Rivera
Essay Contest Winners: 1st Place Ruby Caemmerer
2nd Place Vivian Boonsong
3rd Place Eliza Higgins
Congratulations to all the students who participated in this contest. The essays and pictures will be on display in the township Atrium in the next few weeks.
We are Proud of all of you,
The Members of the 250th Anniversary Committee
