Environmental Resource Inventory (ERI)
Environmental Resource Inventory (ERI)
The ERI documents the resources within the Township of Hainesport. It objectively identifies everything from the geology, hydrology, vegetation, wildlife to existing land use and transportation. It is a detailed description of the town’s resources depicted in maps, charts and text. For each topic, relevant internet links are provided to facilitate more in-depth review.
The ERI is a tool that can be used by the governing body, the planning board and the environmental commission when making decisions about zoning, open space, and development within Hainesport. It can be used as an invaluable tool for protecting the natural resources such as wetlands, wildlife, woodlands, and agricultural areas. It should be reflected in the master plan and updated in conjunction with it.
The Hainesport Township Environmental Commission developed the Environmental Resource Inventory (ERI) as a volunteer project with practically no cost to the Township. This ERI replaces one developed in 2000. (Please click on the links below)
